Being Blind and Appreciating the Beauty in Life

Did you ever wonder what it must be like to be blind?
To not be able to see the beauty in all that is around us?

I see so many people walking in the streets with their head down to the ground.
Going thru life with blinders on, not really appreciating everything that is in front of us!

I came across  a  blind blogger and artist the other day!
RaAnn Clegg runs  Wicket Stitch.

She  says, "I have been legally blind for 13 years.
Every year my vision declines more and more. Many people ask me how I deal with
the loss of something so precious, but few understand the wonderful world around
them when they use their hearing and sense of touch and smell. I will not try to tell
you that being blind is wonderful. It is hard, I just learned to accept the positive side
of things, try to accept my new limitations and do the best I can."

There are many resources available to learn more about Vision Loss,
the Blind and Visually Impaired, Braille and Guide Dogs/Service Animals.

In the United States, the three most prominent organizations are the National
Federation for the Blind, the American Council for the Blind and the
American Foundation for the Blind. Each state also has their own Blind Center
or State Resources for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Life is what you make of it.
Your success or failure is not based upon what has happened to you,
but upon what you make happen.
