Inspirational Mothers Day Contest

Countdown to Mother’s Day!

Very seldom in life do we meet people with such amazing gifts that we are left stunned. Earnestine Robinson is one of those rare people. She is able to create music so intricate, many consider it impossible to do without a background in music. Despite no formal music training, with her faith and family, she rises from humble southern roots to become an unlikely composer of classical music that takes her all the way to Carnegie Hall and to a world premiere in Europe.

Earnestine does not  question her source. She trusts God to guide her and just continues to create extraordinary music that has taken her all the way to Carnegie Hall three times.
While some stories are interesting and others explore and push the reader to think, it is usually the inspirational stories that touch the soul. Her book “Driven by Faith” is a “must-read” for anyone who has struggled to answer the question, “Why am I here?”

Earnestine’s gift is more than just creating some of the most beautiful music you will ever hear. It’s also about family, faith and giving back. To this end, Earnestine and her family are holding a contest, one that could include you and your mother.

Linda Thompson Shares Living With Bruce Jenner

linda thompson bruce jenner

The Huffington Post is the exclusive outlet for a compelling blog written by Linda Thompson, former wife of Bruce Jenner.

By now, Bruce Jenner has revealed his struggle with gender dysphoria.
I never would have dared to speak on this issue before he was comfortable enough to do so first. It is, after all, his truth, so I knew he should be afforded the dignity to reveal that truth on his own time and in the way he sees fit.
I have respectfully kept his secrets private and would have taken his confidences to my grave had he not spoken out.
But now, many years into his remarkable life, he has spoken out. His legacy will likely be sprinkled with references like “Olympian,” “decathlon gold medalist,” “world’s greatest athlete,” “son,” “brother,” “husband,” “father,” “grandfather,” “friend,” and, hopefully, “pioneer” and “trailblazer for the civil rights of the transgender community.”
Can you imagine Bruce and his family living with this secret for 30 years?

Xcaret Park Mexico

xcaret-park-mexico

In 1984 Architect and visionary  Miguel Quintana Pali purchased 12 acres in the Mayan Riviera in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo with the idea of building his dream house.

However, when he began to clear the land he started uncovering ancient Mayan cenotes, sinkholes and beautiful underground rivers. Awed by this magnificent sight he felt that so much beauty should not be accessible only to a privileged few and began to formulate the idea of a park open to the public.

He soon joined forces with Constandse brothers Oscar, Marcos and Carlos, and they began transforming this park into a dream come true called Xcaret. Since its opening in December 1990, Xcaret Park is one of the most famous attractions in the Cancun-Riviera Maya destination, an eco-archaeological park where you can experience the natural and cultural richness of Mexico.

At present, Xcaret group has established itself as a great leader in sustainable tourist recreation and socially responsible, capable of responding to the needs of more than 6 million tourists that visit each year the Mexican Caribbean. This new integration scheme features a complete selection of products which complement each other and will offer the best entertainment and unique experiences surrounded by the natural, cultural and archaeological richness of Mexico.

Mexican Government Recognizes Experiencias Xcaret for its Wildlife Care.
For the last 10 years, at the request of the federal Environmental Protection Agency, Xcaret has looked after 168 specimens of 45 different species.“Xcaret has been a major ally in the care of wild fauna,” says Ludivina Menchaca, federal environmental representative in Quintana Roo.

Mexican environmental authorities acknowledged the contribution of Xcaret Park of Cancún and the Riviera Maya to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals which have been stranded, injured or confiscated from their owners for violations to environmental legislation.

Among the species that have been entrusted to Xcaret are the ocellated turkey and the Yucatan black howler monkey, as well as species of crocodile, deer, pumas, jaguars, falcons, turtles, and ocelots, among many others.

Mexico is  the country of sea turtles. In 2010, Xcaret was authorized by the Wildlife Department to operate as Rescue and Rehabilitation Center for Sea Turtles. Here, Xcaret caters to all turtles that come to rehabilitate and release.  WATCH.

In Xcaret each year we witness the miracle of life through collaborations park and Flora, Fauna and Culture of Mexico Civil Association. Children from all over the world who visit Xcaret and children from public schools that are free in the Schools program, get to know and learn about the protection of this species. (Remember that the hatchlings in the nest will be visiting Xcaret only from July to November).

In a little over a year, the scarlet macaw population flying free in the jungles of Mexico has increased 41% thanks to  Xcaret.  “The alliances that have been built are the new path toward the preservation of our natural heritage,” says Rodolfo Raigoza Figueras, from Experiencias Xcaret.  WATCH

The scarlet macaw reproduction program contributes to the dream of preserving this endangered species. Xcaret will continue working through the next years, so that the scarlet macaws keep coloring the skies of Mexico and Central America. In 2013, the park was recognized by Guinness Book of World Records for rescuing this endangered species.

Xcaret is a majestic park by the sea where you can relive the history of Mexico through colorful traditions and shows, endless activities and beautiful native flora and fauna. Truly an amazing MUST-SEE park!

Real Soulful Site Inspires People

real-soulful-random-acts-kindness

A new social networking site to INSPIRE US!

Social Networking Entrepreneur Tiffany Cooper is spreading the news about a new online social network that promotes positive social networking and allows users to improve their emotional and mental well-being.

For the month of January, Cooper is inviting users to join the www.realsoulful.com site for a different kind of resolution-setting: helping others. Beginning January 1st through January 31st, the new social network is challenging its users to find one kind act that they can do that benefits someone else.

“So many people spend this time of year thinking of ways to improve their lives, which is great.” says Cooper. “Whether it’s to exercise more, eat less, make more money, spend less – we start out strong, but often lose our way before Valentine’s Day. I believe these goals often fail because they lack true inspiration behind them.”

“It’s amazing, though, what we can do when we stop focusing on ourselves and set out to help others,” explains Cooper. “Performing daily acts of kindness has been sceintifically proven to benefit a person’s heart, reduce anxiety, allow for better sleep, improve relationships, lower blood pressure, and simply make people happier and more satisfied with their lives. Who could ask for more in the New Year?”

Realsoulful.com launched in Beta-mode in February 2014 and has over 750 global users to date, with a demographic of 58% female and 42% males. Users are encouraged to share their stories of kindness on the realsoulful.com site to help “promote positivity and inspire others.”

Found at realsouful.com, the “Soulful Networking” site is designed to go beyond sharing everyday happenings (like on most social networking sites) to connecting people on a higher level in areas such as personal growth, gratitude, inspiration and supporting one another’s dreams in a purely positive space.

Cooper explains that many social media sites deal with our basic extrinsic needs, which revolve around status, image and success. While those needs are valid, the idea behind RealSoulful is to connect people at a more profound level to help meet intrinsic needs such as helping others, discovering purpose and creating a better life.

On realsoulful.com users create their own content. They can make a personal space, a “MySanctuary” page, and also post and make comments on a central forum called the “SoulCentral Stream.” In these ways it’s like other sites, but it is with a more soulful context and free of the negativity that exists on other sites.

Realsoulful.com is a free site open to anyone who is willing to abide by the site’s “Playground Rules” which include checking your ego and judgments at the door; being kind and supportive, and saying something nice or nothing at all.

Nomad Peleg Cohen Travels the World

peleg cohen travel

He has never had a regular job or a car.

His education has come from the road and his inspiration from the people he has met along the way.

He has crossed West Africa, lived among locals, slept in villages and pitched his tent on endless stretches of white sand beaches.

He has stood in awe beneath the skyscrapers of Hong Kong and slept among the nomadic tribes of Mongolia.

From the north to the south of the America’s, Europe and Australia, he has fulfilled his dream of traveling to 100 countries.

I’m 30 and I’m a nomad. I’ve never held a job or had a home, I’ve never studied and I don’t have a car. Every week I meet dozens of people I have never seen before and I have friends in every corner of the world,” says Peleg Cohen about himself.

Cohen was born in Israel and after finishing the military service, he felt he wanted to see the world. His journey set out in Bangkok and Thailand, where he couldn’t help falling in love with the landscape and its beautiful people.

The thirst for getting to know new places and meeting people kept on growing and he kept on to Nepal, New Zealand, Australia, Lebanon, Mexico, Brazil, Ethiopia, India and Senegal, among others. And so he got to more than 100 countries in less than 10 years.

“It’s not easy to wake up in a different place every day, without the slightest clue of what the future holds. Nonetheless there’s nothing more stimulating and satisfying than meeting new people and discovering their stories, cultures, traditions and ways of life,” said Peleg.

Cohen developed a global conscience about ways of living of people, and he noticed that not everything was a bed of roses and he felt the need to start helping people he met on the road.

Diva Living with AIDS Rae Lewis Thornton

rae lewis thornton hiv black women chicago
Educated, attractive, assertive and ambitious are just a few of the words used to describe Rae Lewis-Thornton. In 1986, during a routine blood drive visit at a Washington D.C. Red Cross, Rae received news of another word that would soon be used to describe her health and future. At the tender age of 23, Rae Lewis-Thornton was diagnosed HIV Positive.
Despite her present day status of having full-blown AIDS (ACQUIRED Immune-deficiency Syndrome), Rae Lewis-Thornton leads her own unending crusade to educate and challenge young and old audiences to take control of their own bodies, futures and health. Rae uses her life as an example that AIDS is a non-discriminatory disease. She challenges the most common myths and stereotypes surrounding who and how one can become infected with the HIV virus that most often results in AIDS and death. In doing this, she incorporates her own oratory skills, personal experiences and unyielding honesty to create and disseminate her critical and deadly message of her own day by day, personal destruction by AIDS.
Rae uses all forms of media to convey her message. In less than a year Rae Lewis-Thornton has made her mark in Social Media. She is the recipient of the British Academy Golden Tweet Award in Public Service for 2010 and The 2011 CBS Chicago Most Valuable Blogger in Medical, Health and Fitness. She uses Twitter effectively to continue her crusade to educate, reduce the spread of HIV, as well as to challenge stigma and shame around HIV/AIDS. She held the first HIV/AIDS Tweet-up in the US in July 2010 and is now taking her Tweet-up’s nationwide. In December 2010 Rae organized a Twitter Book Club, RLT Reads. Along with Twitter, she uses both of her Facebook pages as a daily platform to educate both on HIV/AIDS generally and her personal struggle of living and managing HIV/AIDS.
Rae Lewis Thornton’s gift is to help people get passed their pain and live a healthy balanced life. For the past 19 years she’s done that through speaking, press interviews, tv, radio, print and most recently in her blog. How to Live Passionately when Life Punches You

shawn

Motivational author and speaker, Shawn Anderson, has interviewed hundreds of people who have experienced tragedy, failure and setback. He’s also been witness to many who have walked through their toughest moment only to make it to the other side with an increased passion and purpose for living.

“It’s inevitable that at one time or another life will punch us hard in the gut; no one is immune to experiencing tragedy or failure,” Anderson says. “But when it’s our turn to feel life’s stomach blow, how will we handle it? Will we ‘go the extra mile’ and passionately keep on living, or will we just give up and go through the motions?”

In his interviews, Anderson learned that extra-mile people who transition positively through life’s toughest moments practice at least one of these seven regrouping strategies.

1. They don’t quit on life. “Tragedy might have happened, huge mistakes might have been made, but the world continues. People who have walked successfully over life’s hot-coal moments always keep going. They never quit living,” Anderson shares.

2. They live day-by-day. “It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the ‘What am I going to do now?’ feeling, but extra-mile people focus on the now. They don’t let thoughts of how they’re going to deal with tomorrow defeat them,” Anderson says.

3. They find support. “By forging relationships with positive, move-forward type people, survivors trigger positive energy to flow back into their lives,” Anderson points out.

4. They get involved again. “Extra-mile people transcend life’s tragedies by not choosing isolation when life knocks them down,” Anderson shares. “It’s easy to want to hide in a cave after something bad happens, but the longer we stay in the cave, the more challenging it is to ever leave it.”

5. They remain optimistic. “Extra-mile people support themselves with their own words and actions. They don’t let negative self-talk rule their brains, and they make sure not to surrender to negative, self-defeating emotions,” Anderson says.

6. They trust their faith and look for a higher purpose in their loss. “Extra-mile people believe that there is a stronger power at work in the world. Faith in a higher power…and yourself…works miracles in overcoming bad events,” Anderson quotes.

7. They seek to add value to the world. “People who have weathered a life storm recognize the opportunity to re-evaluate their own contribution to the world. They use their event not as a forever defeat, but rather as an igniting spark to do something meaningful,” Anderson says.

The author of six motivational books, including A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over and Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose, Anderson is not only committed to support others in overcoming life’s toughest moments, he is also a leading voice on “going the extra mile” in order to maximize potential and contribution. Last year, his Extra Mile America organization led 444 cities to declare 11/1/13 as “Extra Mile Day”… a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change in ourselves, families, organizations and communities when we “go the extra mile.”

“When something bad happens, we have the choice to either throw our hands in the air and give up or ‘go the extra mile’ and keep giving life our best effort. When we achieve that extra-mile distinction, we change our destiny.”

Selling Everything – Except the Yorkshire Terrier!

How much is your all your stuff worth? And could you part with EVERYTHING, to move and start over??

How much is a life worth? If you ask Kerry Hogan, he’d say about $1.1
million, as that’s the price tag he’s put on his worldly possessions.

The 51-year-old Winnipeg native and owner of Gags Unlimited is
selling almost everything he owns: his fully furnished house, car, boat,
RV, as well as his business, on the listing website Kijiji. He’s doing
this, he said, because he wants a change in his life.

“I’ve always needed new experiences, and I’ve always needed new
thrills, and I guess I’m a bit of a thrill-seeker, but I don’t want to
endanger my life doing it,” he said.

So why not sell it all and leave the country ?

While he’s selling everything for $1.1 million, he said he’s unsure of the actual value.

“I don’t know, and I don’t think I want to. It’s all relative. I got
pictures hanging on the wall that I might have paid 400 bucks for. What
is it worth? Nobody is going to pay me 400, I don’t think. But would
they pay me two, or would they pay me 20 bucks? I don’t know how to
evaluate that,” he said.

His plan, he said, is to go to Mexico to buy a small bed-and-breakfast.

The only things he doesn’t plan on selling are a few personal items:
pictures, records, some clothes and his dog. Though the Yorkshire
terrier is on sale in the listing, Hogan said the dog will either go
with him or stay with his adult daughter. Everything else, people can
buy.

” It’s just stuff. I’d like to part with
it. I’d want to know what it feels like not to own all of this and all
the stuff that comes with it,” he said.

The listing has got a lot of attention, with about 39,000 views since
it went up Feb. 19. He said he’s got few firm offers. A couple of
people offered to buy parts of the listing, but he said he’s only
selling it as a package.

He said he’s also been getting emails from people with cancer, stroke
victims and others, encouraging him and telling him how his story made
them rethink their lives.

“I had one email that said, ‘You’re a game-changer and you’re going to do great.’ “

“People sit around waiting for something to happen. They wake up
every morning and they go to a job they don’t like, shovel snow in a
house they can’t afford. They just do it, day in, day out,” he said.
“I’m single, I live in a large house by myself, I go to bed at night
alone, I wake up alone, and I’m sitting there: ‘Wow, what am I waiting
for?’

12-12-12 thru 12-21-12 – what does it mean?

Well, it’s December 2012…finally. Is your mind reeling with
possibilities? Your heart swelling with expectations? Your body anxious
to house more of YOU? Your spirit so very ready to connect with Home in
this new way? Are the many possibilities racing through your mind and
heart about the grand Expiration Date of 12-21-12? Are you as ready for the 12-12-12 through 12-21-12 shift-point as
you possibly can be? Do you have any fears, worries or confusions about
this monumental transition we’re about to traverse…many of us while in
our physical bodies?

In Cosmic Awareness’s message below, he/It/they talk about a Key in the Heart and include a great meditation/visualization about using this key to access and interact with your personal inner “God drop” as Sandra Walter — who I also only recently discovered thanks to another reader — called it that exists within our hearts. See how many of the different Ascension Teachers—both incarnate and not—have been making these interesting connections during this 2012 autumn? This too is an aspect of the December 12-12-12 through 12-21-12 shift-point trigger energies. It’s also how those of us who’ve been scattered far and wide and flying under the radar of Team Dark, isolated in our locations for decades and lifetimes, are being increasingly and openly connected for all involved. Here comes the new High Heart blueprints and ways.

The Ancient Mayan calendar speaks of
12-12-2012 as the end of times as we know it, and the beginning of a
new cycle of evolution for planet earth, humanity and the cosmos. Mayan
elders say that the Ancients were informing the modern world to be ready
for a giant transformation for the human race. Interestingly,
traditions across the world including Buddhism, Tao, Hopi and Vedic
knowledge predict a ‘Golden Age’ or ‘Satyug’ in their calendars around
the same period. December 2012 is being looked upon as a significant
spiritual event and a momentous shift in the collective consciousness of
the planet.

12-12-12 is a beautiful opportunity for
transformation and healing on a personal and global level. We are
invited to allow the supportive energies of Mother Earth to open our
hearts and be ready for expansion.

In a very real sense what occurs on the 12-12-12 is the Ascension,
and what takes place on December 21, 2012is the Initial Birthing
Solstice of the New Earth. That is because the ‘mechanics’ of the actual
ascending process (that enables the Ascension) occurs on the 12-12-12.

Accordingly it is what happens on December 12, 2012 that finalizes
the activations and network-connections of all the Master Crystals,
Crystalline Fields, Grid Points, Power Nodes, & Vortexial-Portal
Sites to the Crysto-Sun Disc and 144 Grid.

On the 12-12-12, for the first time, all of these crucial aspects
combine, network and tie into the completed 144 Crystalline Grid. At
precisely 12:12 pm from the Crystal Vortex, will the ascending energy
merge and be tangibly felt. All will tie initially into the Crysto Sun
Disc of Pinnacle Mountain located in the largest strata of Crystal on
your planet, and then connect to the grid.

Many
spiritualists, astrologers, and other people involved in “New Age”
religions or other approaches to spirituality think December 21, 2012
(or December 12, 2012) is going to be a big day.
They say
that the ancient Mayan calendar’s cycle will stop and then restart then,
and that something significant will take place. Their predictions range
from cataclysmic events to the world being “reborn” Dec. 21, 2012 (or
Dec. 12, 2012).

Kiam Moriya, from Birmingham Alabama, was born on December 12, 2000 12 minutes after midday, in Bronxville, New York.

“It’s like one minute out of a whole lifetime,” Kiam told AL.com. “You know, it’s all 12s.”

HOW COOL IS THAT??Do you think he is going to be special? I think so!
